How to Turn on Checking Ink Levels for an HP Printer

Click 'Start.'
Click 'Control Panel.'
Click 'Devices and Printers.'
Right-click the HP printer icon.
Click 'Properties.' The 'Ink Level' meter will be in the window on-screen. When the 'Properties' window opens, the utility will run a check and update you as to the level of ink in the printer's cartridges at that particular moment.
