How to Print Barcodes With a Laserjet Printer in Windows


Navigate to a website that offers free barcode fonts for Windows (See Resources). Download the font file and save it to your computer.
Browse to the folder where you saved the barcode font file.
Highlight the font file. Right-click on the file name and click 'Install' on the pop-up menu. Wait for Windows to install and configure the font for use with word processing applications on your computer.



Launch a word processing application in Windows.
Create or open a document in which you want to create barcode entries. Enter normal text that will accompany the barcode symbol.
Move the mouse cursor to the point in the document where you want to display and print the barcode. Click the font drop-down list at the top of the screen. Scroll down to the name of the barcode font and click to select it.
Enter alpha and numerical values for the barcode symbol. For instance, if you are creating a barcode for a unique customer ID, the entry might resemble 'JDOE2544487. Then press the 'Enter' key. The value converts to a barcode display in the document when using the barcode font.
Click 'File > Save' on the menu bar to save the document.
Click 'File > Print' on the menu bar to open the 'Print' dialog window. Ensure the printer is on and has paper, then click the 'OK' button. The printer prints the document with the normal text and barcode entered in the word processing application.

How to Troubleshoot a Photosmart All


Visit the Support and Drivers page on the Hewlett Packard website (see Resources section). From here, you can download the latest printer software as well as driver updates for your printer in order to resolve many printing issues.
Disable anti-virus programs. If you are unable to install the software or drivers required for your HP Photosmart All-In-One printer, you may need to disable your anti-virus program during the installation process.
Disconnect the USB cable from the printer to the computer. Restart your computer and plug it back in so that the printer can be recognized by the computer. Also, test the USB cable as well as the power strip for the AC plug to make sure both are in working order.
Remove the paper tray to see if paper is loaded properly. Avoid overloading the paper tray and check that the right size paper is loaded based on the tray's adjustment. While the paper tray is removed, you should check for paper jams in the HP Photosmart All-In-One.
Press the 'Setup' key on your HP Photosmart All-In-One to review your preferences. Scroll through the options to make sure the correct language, country and time is set.

How to Share Mac Printers


Connect a printer��s USB cable to the USB port of one of the Macs on the local network. Turn on the printer. Go to ��File�� and select ��System Preferences�� from the drop-down menu on the Mac on which the printer is connected.
Click on the ��Print & Fax�� icon beneath ��Hardware�� in the window that appears. Select the printer that has just been connected from the ��Printers�� list in the left column of the window that appears.
Click the ��Share this printer on the network�� checkbox to the right of ��Printers.�� Click ��Show All�� at the top of the window to return to the ��System Preferences�� window. Click on the ��Sharing�� icon beneath ��Internet & WIreless�� in the window that appears.
Check the ��Printer Sharing�� checkbox in the left column of the window that appears. Check the name of the printer in the ��Printers�� column to the right of ��Printer Sharing.
Select ��Can Print�� from the ��Everyone�� drop-down menu to the right of ��Printers.�� Close the window by clicking the red button at the upper left corner.



Go to ��File�� and select ��System Preferences�� from the drop-down menu on a Mac that is to share the printer.
Click on the ��Print & Fax�� icon beneath ��Hardware�� in the window that appears.
Select the printer that has been connected from the ��Printers�� list in the left column of the window that appears.
Click the ��Share this printer on the network�� checkbox to the right of ��Printers.��
Click the red button at the upper left corner to close the window.

How to Override the 'Canon Printer Ink Has Run Out' Message


Click on Start, Control Panel and Printers and Faxes on the computer system tray. Select the printer in the dialogue box.
Click Printer Preferences in the dialogue box to open the maintenance program.
Locate the ink level warning indicator in the maintenance section. Click to disable the ink level warning indicator by selecting the radio box next to this option. This will disengage the warning message and prevent it from appearing on the screen.
Click 'Apply' and then close the dialogue box.

How to Connect an HP Printer to an Apple Laptop


Go to the 'Apple' menu and highlight 'Software Update' to check for printer software updates.
Turn on the HP printer and connect it to the laptop with the USB cable included with the printer.
Navigate to the 'Apple' menu in the upper left corner of the screen and select 'System Preferences.' Click on the icon for 'Print & Fax.'
Open the lock icon in the lower left corner of the screen by clicking on it. Enter an administrator user name and password in the on screen dialog window.
Press the plus icon below the 'Printers' menu on the left side of the screen.
Select the HP printer from the 'Printer Name' list. Press 'Add.'

How to Connect a Printer Directly to a Laptop Ethernet


Locate the Ethernet port on your printer, which is often on the back of the unit. Insert an Ethernet connector of the cable into the port. Connect the other connector of the Ethernet cable into the port on the back of your laptop.
Click 'Start' on your laptop to access the Start menu. Click 'Devices and Printers.' Click 'Add a printer.' Select the local printer option. Click 'Next' to use the existing printer port.
Enter the manufacturer and model of your printer on the next screen so that your laptop can locate and install the printer drivers. Click 'Next.' Name your printer something that will help you recognize it from any other printer installed on your laptop. Click 'Next.'
Select whether you want to share this printer with other users on your computer. Click 'Finish.' Click 'Print Test Page' if you want to verify the connection with a sample page.

How to Fix the Repeat Alignment Issue With the All


Turn on the printer. Lower the access door and wait while the cartridges move to the middle and stop. Remove the old cartridges and replace them with new ones, if you have not done so already. Ensure the protective cover is removed from the copper contacts and that your fingers don't touch the metal.
Unplug the USB cable from the back of the printer.
Print the alignment page and place it under the scan lid. Press the 'Scan' button. The 'On' button will flash and the HP All-in-One printer will scan the alignment page. When the scan is complete, the power button stops blinking.
Reattach the USB cable to your printer.
