How to Print Barcodes With a Laserjet Printer in Windows
Navigate to a website that offers free barcode fonts for Windows (See Resources). Download the font file and save it to your computer.
Browse to the folder where you saved the barcode font file.
Highlight the font file. Right-click on the file name and click 'Install' on the pop-up menu. Wait for Windows to install and configure the font for use with word processing applications on your computer.
Launch a word processing application in Windows.
Create or open a document in which you want to create barcode entries. Enter normal text that will accompany the barcode symbol.
Move the mouse cursor to the point in the document where you want to display and print the barcode. Click the font drop-down list at the top of the screen. Scroll down to the name of the barcode font and click to select it.
Enter alpha and numerical values for the barcode symbol. For instance, if you are creating a barcode for a unique customer ID, the entry might resemble 'JDOE2544487. Then press the 'Enter' key. The value converts to a barcode display in the document when using the barcode font.
Click 'File > Save' on the menu bar to save the document.
Click 'File > Print' on the menu bar to open the 'Print' dialog window. Ensure the printer is on and has paper, then click the 'OK' button. The printer prints the document with the normal text and barcode entered in the word processing application.
