How to Change a Printer Name in Windows (4 Steps)
Log on to your computer as the administrator. Click the 'Start' button, followed by 'Control Panel.'
Select 'Hardware and Sound' from within the control panel. Scroll down the list, locate, and click 'Printers.'
Select the printer that you want to rename by clicking on it. Click the 'Rename this printer' icon from toolbar located at the top of the page. You may be prompted to enter the administrator's password, if this is the case, enter the password in the appropriate field and press 'OK' to continue with the process.
Enter the new printer name in the open message field next to the printer icon. Using you mouse button, right click outside of the message bar to save the text. You have now renamed your printer.
