How do I Check the Printer Status Settings?

Click on your 'Start' button on the lower left corner of the screen. Click on 'Control Panel' in the window that appears.
Click on the 'Printers and Faxes' icon when the 'Control Panel' opens.
Look in the window that pops up for the name of the printer you want to check, which is usually the model of the printer. Look under the 'Status' section, and make sure that it says 'Ready.'
Right click on the printer name and click on 'Properties.' In this window you are able to adjust color settings and whether the printer uses double-sided printing. Adjust the settings to your particular preferences or printing requirements and click on 'OK' to confirm.
