How to Fix HP Printer Cartridges

Pull the ink cartridge out of the printer and check to make sure the strip or tape that usually comes on new printer cartridges to protect the print nozzle has been completely removed. Lightly dampen a paper towel and blot the printer cartridge before installing it back in the printer.
If the ink cartridge is still printing smeared or very light text, go to your printer's software program. Access the printer's 'properties' tab and look for a 'maintenance' or 'services' tab. Follow the procedure as instructed by your computer and print a test page.
Print a few multicolored pages out if your test page prints all but one color. It could be that the ink in your colored-ink cartridge has not had a chance to properly mix. You might need to buy refill ink or a new ink cartidge in that color.
Lift the cartridge carriage up and position it in the middle of the printer to clean the square rubber pieces with cotton swabs dabbed in warm water. Dirty printers will affect the quality of even a new HP ink cartridge. You will need to use your flashlight to help see your handiwork.
Slide a damp paper towel back and forth under the carriage to remove excess dirt.BWMR

How to Connect My Canon MP250 Series Printer to My Computer

Pull down the paper output tray, which is attached to the bottom edge of the printer's front panel. Examine the left side panel of the printer, and find the power port located in the lower left corner. Insert one end of the power cord into the power port. Plug the remaining end of the power cord into a nearby power outlet.
Examine the control panel, located to the right of the scanner cover. Press the power button, located in the upper left corner of the control panel. Confirm that the button is lit green before proceeding; if the button is not lit, confirm that the power plug is properly connected.
Grip the front edge of the scanner unit, located at the top of the printer. Lift the front edge of the scanner unit upward and locate the support installed under the right edge. Pull down the support, and insert the end of it into the notch located on the right side of the printer's interior.
Find the ink-cartridge holder, located in the center of the printer's interior. Examine the two latches attached to the holder. Insert the tip of your forefinger into the notch installed at the top of the right latch. Place your thumb on the tab attached to the front of the latch. Squeeze your thumb and forefinger together to open the latch. Repeat with the remaining latch.
Remove the orange tape from the underside of the black ink cartridge. Lower the black ink cartridge into the right slot on the cartridge holder. Push the cartridge all the way into the slot, then lower the latch. Push down on the latch until it locks into place. Install the color ink cartridge in the left slot in a similar manner. Lift the scanner unit upward, and fold the attach support upward. Lower the scanner unit onto the printer.
Examine the printer's right panel, and find the USB port, located near the right edge. If you are connecting the printer to a Macintosh, plug the USB cable into the port. If you are connecting the printer to a Windows PC, press the power button to turn off the device.
Insert the installation disc into your computer, and run the installer program. Click the button labeled 'Easy Install' or 'Install.' Follow the on-screen instructions; if you are using a Windows PC, turn on the printer and connect the USB cable when prompted.
Grip the top edge of the paper support, located on the rear of the printer. Pull the support upward, then tilt it away from the printer. Separate the guides installed near the bottom of the support. Fill the support with plain paper, and slide the guides inward.

How to Scan a Document on a Multi

Connect your multi-function printer and computer. Power them up.
Select the side of the document you are going to scan. Give the document a once-over, checking for any flaws that you do not want transferred into electronic form.
Open the printer's lid. Place the side of the document you want scanned face-down on the glass plate of your multi-function printer's scanning bed. Align the document to your satisfaction.
Close the printer's lid carefully. You may want to weigh the document down with another sheet of paper to prevent it from shifting.
Choose an appropriate scan resolution. You may have to do this using the controls of your printer or on the computer, depending on the model and software.
Press the scan button to start the process. This can be done on the printer itself or on the computer.
Preview the scan on your computer monitor. You should be able to make minor changes to the scanned image if needed.
Save the scanned image if you are satisfied with the result. Try again if you are not satisfied.

How to Clean an HP Printer (5 Steps)

Unplug the printer and remove any paper.
Wipe off the outside of the printer with a soft cloth dampened with water and a very mild detergent. This should remove any dust, debris, and small bits of paper from the exterior of the printer.
Open the printer and gently wipe the inside area of the printer with a damp, lint free cloth. Wipe the rollers gently, and avoid getting excess water on any part of the printer. Make sure the cloth is barely damp and not dripping wet.
Remove the ink cartridges and wipe excess ink off of the bottom using a damp Q-tip, followed by a dry Q-tip. Replace the ink cartridges when you're finished.
Close the printer and leave any damp parts to dry for about 20 minutes before plugging it back in and resuming regular use. After cleaning, you may want to run a print test to recalibrate the printer.
