How to Store Printer Cartridges (3 Steps)
Select a cool, dry location to store printer cartridges. Excessive heat may cause air bubbles. In locations that tend to be warm, choose the coolest area, such as a closet or cabinet away from windows. Heat rises, so keep cartridges on lower shelves.

Keep printer cartridges sealed in the original packaging whenever possible. New cartridges come sealed in a protective wrapper that helps to keep the ink fresh.
Store the printer cartridges right side up. If they're in the original box, this means placing the boxes on their bottoms so that the writing on the package is right side up. If you have cartridges that aren't in the box, place the aperture end down. The aperture is the end covered with a tab that seals the ink in. Never store ink cartridges on their sides, because they may leak.
How to Install a Samsung DR Printer
Plug the printer's main power plug into a wall socket. Take the plastic USB cord out of its packaging and attach either end to the printer and your computer. Now, turn the printer on.
Open the printer lid and wait for the printer head to reset to the middle. Open the included ink cartridges and take off all the packaging. Pull off the plastic tab on the bottom of each cartridge. Put the color and black inks in their slots in the printer and press down until they click. Close the printer lid.
Put the included CD into your disk drive and follow the onscreen instructions to install the printer program and drivers. If you don't have the CD, go to Samsung's downloads website (see below). Click on 'Computing' and a box will pop up. Click on 'Printers and Multifunction' in the left column, then choose your product number on the right. It will redirect you to a new page, and click 'Download' to get all the install files. Double-click to install once they've downloaded.
Pull out the paper tray at the bottom of the printer and put in some paper. Print a test page to try your new printer.
